Overheard in Azeroth

Spotted in the Honor Hold graveyard.

Technically, this is not an “overheard” submission, but it’s part of the whole “World of Warcraft is cool and weird sometimes” vibe that I’m going for with this blog.

So here’s a little tidbit I noticed when wandering around Outland the other day. I’ll admit to not reading a lot of the text when talking to NPCs. I mostly just want to either buy or sell stuff, or do quests. But sometimes, reading the text gives some cute little inside gems that I LOVE because it adds richness and lore to the game. Here’s an example.

Bertelm is an NPC in Allerian Stronghold, an Alliance town in Terokkar Forest. Clearly, Bertelm has a crush or something on “Ros’eleth.” Do you know who Ros’eleth is?

That’s right, Ros’eleth is an ambitious young blood elf/high elf. Blizzard gives little story tidbits like this that I just really like — imagine the hidden story behind these two people! It’s the stuff fanfics are made of.
